The Alliance submitted a pre-Budget submission in January 2025, acknowledging the many unique challenges of AI in healthcare, as well as the advanced state of AI governance in healthcare compared to many other industry sectors. The submission focused on the many policy recommendations contained within the AAAiH’s AI Policy roadmap. We identified policy opportunities that had the potential to significant impact on national capacity to provide sustainable healthcare and to help industry flourish in the ultra-competitive healthcare AI market.
AAAiH acknowledged the Government’s demonstrated commitment to a whole of government approach to AI adoption. The submission reflected on how its recommendations supported current government health policy priorities, the 2024 Safe and Responsible AI in healthcare public consultation conducted by the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC), and the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) National AI Capability Plan.
